Lol so I spent hours adding intros and endings to my new song. Ready to download it and got a message saying that this feature is no longer allowed.

So basicly you can't have your own work

Cause it's a partnership with universal, all songs are loaded onto a platform.

And it now says, you will be making music inspired by others.

This is all in response to lawsuits.

Glad I can still hear my work,now I can steal from myself

Yup paid off for stealing licks , Suno is next on pay offs

Sounds promising. But so much damage is already done.

its compromise on labels paying them off , They probably have no choice . They can't prove robots were trained on stolen material

This is Andrew Sanchez, CEO of Udio. I am absolutely thrilled to announce our historic partnership with Universal Music Group. Today is a huge day for Udio, and I want to explain what this means for you, our users, as we enter this new chapter.
Empowering Artists, Elevating Fans
From Udio’s earliest days, I have wanted to use our technology to engage directly with artists and my favorite songs. In my case, that ranges from Renaissance polyphony to Bach to 1970s rock to 2020s pop. What we’re pioneering with Universal will help make that possible in ways that directly empower artists and songwriters.
In partnership with UMG, we will be working closely with their extraordinary artists, songwriters and catalog to help bring your favorite music onto the platform while providing artists with control over how AI is used to make music and connect with fans.
I am passionate about ensuring that artists and songwriters benefit directly from the potential that AI brings to music. Today is our first step in that direction.
What to Expect 🎶
Here is what the team is building for the next chapter.
Create with an artist’s voice and style: Artists will set permissions for what and how you can create, allowing you to make new music in their distinct style. Which artists do you want to create with first? Let us know here.
Remix and Reimagine your favorite songs with AI: Reimagine your favorite song in a new genre, blend it with a different artistic style, or begin experimenting with covers. The limit is your imagination!
Mashup: Take your favorite artists, songs, or styles and combine them in novel ways. In our internal experimentation, the team has gotten some truly remarkable and unusual results that will definitely delight.
And many more features that will transform how you connect with the music and artists you love

The Transition
Over the next several months, Udio will be in a transition period as the team prepares our newest models and product experiences. Starting today, downloads from the platform will be unavailable.
I understand this represents a significant sacrifice, and I hate eliminating functionality for our users. We make this change with a heavy heart, but it is necessary to help achieve the vision we’re working towards.
In the transition, we’re adding an additional 1,200 credits to our Pro and Standard tier users. Pro subscribers will also benefit from an increased limit of 10 simultaneous song creations. In addition, all subscribers will also receive a one-time bonus of 1,000 additional non-expiring credits.

It seems like it's heading in a direction of doing this is for fun and novelty.

But it's tricky cause the lyric in theses are 100% mine never had ai write one word for me.

I guess I understand, the wow factor of the 🎵 c generated makes everybody feel they are composers

If Udio puts music to lyrics that you wrote and you can't download it for demo purposes, what good is that. They now own something that you wrote, maybe they will release it as their creation and make money off it.

Ai was a novelty for 2 months , now it back to recording studios and humans . Spotify is already making robot bands and making money off them .One reached on the Billboard charts. I'm sure Spoitfy is buddies with Suno . Labels are paying off AI companies . So they'll all make money working together. Billion dollar companies . it's not really how good the song is , it's red and black balance sheets

Exactly . I don't really understand what it is they are trying to do. It seems they are trying to create an environment, a place for people to go and use their playground, while at same time having control over it. Maybe keeping tabs on big earners, if there will be.

Yeah, you use your lyrics, audio takes them and then their program now has your works that it can break apart and allow users to use

If you write a great line.like, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. That could end up in someone else's song
My basic feeling is they wanna know and track who used what and when, to pay universal.

The problem is not ai itself, it's that it's trained on hit songs from radio and Spotify

Maybe now, udio suno will have to label who it is being referenced in songs. To pay the creators

its war I guess. what's Paul worth a billion , So is suno. I'm not sure what Udio is worth, Big bucks flying no doubt Maybe he saw a Suno song hitting them digital charts , No Idea, That is a lousy song , they got better than that. is Eli Mercer any better , well a tad .
