upmarket utilitarian
Go So two words. Rough to the touch. Miffed already. Fumes smoke my ears. Tears for misery me. Useful like make it sweat. Go have a shower. Spray splash watery shot gun squirt gun sounds. But harm less. And useful. Now , I’m clean, still a buck in my pocket blue jeans from thrift fit tight wear well squeaky dance shufffle feet like Sammy Davis mars.

Down with doing WHAT now with a librarian? Wait. No. Focus. Be sensible. All the Spidey senses tingling. Ting-a-ling. Sing-song of six pence. Who carries rye in their pocket anyways? Ryan Gossling. Baby goose. Talk to me Goose. Danger Zone. Loggins. Kenny G. Gee willickers. Golly Gee Gosh. Zoinks! Scooby! Shaggy. Hot Stepper. Stepping off this crazy thing. Astro!
Peace,
Dave

Hot stepper. Click track generation. Zoinks is a happening downtown.
Colour ful language unique to the person.
I pulled the exercise from Pat Pattison’s book, who suggests:
each person has a unique take on most everything…..so when one exercises their uniqueness, in sense words, it is more clearly identified, and can be more clearly expressed, and when a lyric idea finally shows up, one is better able to grab it. And express it in sense language.
Show rather then tell. Exercise all senses.
Vision Touch Smell Hear Taste
And two others: Organic(insides, like muscle tense, heart rate, etc)
And
Outside kinesthetic( vertigo, full body spin, tumble, etc)

I’m reading a fiction series by Robert Galbraith(the Cormorant Strike series)
I pulled the phrase upmarket utilitarian from there.
It was used to describe the inside design of a pub eating drinking establishment.
Go:
I ran my hand across the rough top table and nicked a drip of bright red splinter. Sharp nervy painful, my head whirl and the air was quickly briefly blue as patron heads spun.
Done.
Dave! Thanks for the visit. Suggest an object word….your turn. I will write.
Bill

Monetary transgression.
Go: What is a firken word. Play. Drives me lazy. Changing world needs new words? Changing words needs a new world? Retreat. Transdirection. Move my money aggressively in the opposite direction. Makes multiply mega money rich direction. Yeah that’s my gression…so what? But. Smells bad. Like acid rain from a nuclear cloud. Paper with a greasy feel. Makes my nose wrinkle, and leaves my tongue a rinkling ugh. So be careful w that transaction gression. Keep your coinage dry. Don’t get dizzy, spiny, frizzy, tipsy turvy, swirly silly over stinky dirty paper promises of wealth and live forever. Keep some. Give the rest away. Be happy!

Next word object:
babbling brook
Go Show vs tell. How to do that? Ok. Use sense words, and, show who, what, when, where, why. That’s tuff! Hi. My name is Brook. Sorry. I’m babbling. What babbles? Rocks! Yeah yeah Brook has rocks in his…funny! Not. Rocks? How big a rock? The size of a ping pong. Ping pong? Is that a foreign language? No! It’s a babble language. Bonus. Ping is sound. Ok. Getting somewhere. Where? Well, I’m showing babble sound…..smooth rock the size of a ping pong….knock, knock, knock. Who is there? Babbling here.
Knock some rocks together Put them in some rushing water Close your eyes Think sunny day Reclining, resting, in the green grass smells Rocks talk through water dreams. So says babbling brook.

Ok. Some interest in this exercise.
1. It’s meant to be prose form. Free association. A dig for sense base descriptive.
2. Once a day 10 min only.
3. The benefit is brain train, discover what is there, time goes on and retrieval is faster, more focused, more you.
4. Final take away is when you go for verse, verse, chorus, verse, bridge, etc…….you have a bag of resonate babble to draw on and use in your lyric storyline.

Also. The exercise is designed for high achieving Berkeley school of music grads.
The 10 min time limit is too tight…..take hours, days, weeks to ponder the object word in all its who-what’s and sense shows.

Ten minutes only, let the pen just run No rules, no reason, no need to be done Chasing a feeling, a flicker, a thread Digging for something that’s already said Loose thoughts drifting, no need to explain Words fall like rhythm, like soft summer rain Day after day, something starts to appear A voice getting closer, a signal more clear Fragments of meaning, scattered and true Turning to something that sounds more like you And when it’s time for a verse or a line You’ve got a pocket full of gold you can mine Guys, feel free to use anything you like....

Pinnacle Depths
Go: I’ve thought about.googled the terms. Is that cheating? But I feel stretched for time. Physically stretch as well if I’m truthful. Like a measuring tape. Skinny. It have to be. Skinny. This stretch from the pinnacle of pinnacles to the recessive of depts, freezing finger tips to blazing hot toes. A stretch of mind to a ribbon of time, winding whirling wind reaching heaven from hell, best direction. Slide the string ride to hell, worst direction. Get me off this roller coaster. My imagination winds away from pillar to post. Stop. Roll it up. Roll it in like a tap measure zip. Put it away for another day.

I missed the boat, the boat is sinking, titanic, gilligans island, boats have oars, pushing ahead, water hitting your face, it's rocky, there's waves, you tip over and cling to the bottom of the boat, drifting, hit the shore , the boat drifts away
