Brian, Much like that issue last year where Lynman posted a thread declaring you came to the Philippines, Lynman likes to assume things ad make things up. Again, he volunteered, he's the "first" one here, but the few of us here, at least Darius and I, believe he's doing more damage than anything representing US Filipinos. His information or "expertise" is hardly reliable and often highly questionable, one of the main reason why PhilMusic members ridiculed him when he started a "Songwriting Challenge" thread in that forum. I hope this shed more light as to the true character of our favorite "doctor," and help you arrive at a decision. The plot thins. Lynman REALLY NEEDS to stop making stories up.
Konting bigay kaalaman lamang dahil ngayon ko rin lang nabasa ito.
(Translation: Here's a little info regarding the matter since I've just read (the thread) now.)
Nelson did receive an apology. I had to check the newspaper article to make sure if there was any mention of collection of royalties which the author may have quoted. I did not see any.
I hope the author )meaning Lynman) does not make sweeping conclusions based on a newspaper article, much more a showbusiness column. As far as I know, this apology came from Mr. Brickman a long time ago but there has been no agreement yet regarding any compensation.
This issue has taken so many twists and turns and I believe the apology is not enough.
I wonder where the Mr. Bacolor learned that Nelson will receive royalties because "Americans respect that (sic)". The song in question was included in an album of Jim Brickman which was released, if my memory of the case serves me right, in Canada.
This is the same Kedy Sanchez, a seasoned professional with several hits under his belt, whom Lynman Bacolor maligned, where Lynman openly supported piracy. From a (semi) OFFICIAL source: I met Nelson at Vehnee Saturno's studio last Monday.
He's still at it, so I guess the "apology" did not end the matter.
In deference to him and the things said in private, I'll refrain from posting any further details.
BAMF is a moderator at PhilMusic, and currently has a REAL recording studio.
