Today we finally release the third album by Forget, Forget. In the end, it stands as an acknowledgement of our own disillusionment in the myth of the imaginary life our generation was led to believe existed. But it’s not interested in any one feeling. Instead the feelings commingle and dance with each other.
The joy of staying in and watching a movie, the looming dread of imposter syndrome and the not knowing how to say it out loud to the person you share a life with, until maybe one day you don’t. The genuine work and improvements we make with our relationships to mental health and substance use, and the inevitable failures and setbacks we all encounter when we try to engage with something like that. The gratitude we feel for someone still willing to share the mundane of every day with us, still wanting to hear about how our day went.
All of this energy of mixed human experience lays under the cloud of a vice grip choking the middle class, and rising fascism taking a hold of the levers of power, delighting in the state sanctioned mass disappearing and executing of HUMAN BEINGS.
Grappling with the world we have and how powerless it can make us feel, but also knowing we have to try to fight back, cuz we’re the only ones here in this place and time to do it… once we’ve figured out how to pay rent this month.
