Wow... do we have a great meeting lined up for May! What better way to celebrate the creative process than with the creators of an album that came to be because of the journey these two people took in becoming first time parents. The album is "Labor of Love," the parents are Scarlett and Lee Cherry, and there is much to tell, see and hear about it, which will happen on May 20th here at Theta Sound Studio in Burbank.

But before diving into the details, to make this meeting accessible to everyone, we will be webcasting this event via Ustream! So wherever you are, if you've got an internet connection and a computer or mobile device, you'll be able to see, hear and post your comments/questions on the Ustream page. Last month we made history by having JPF's founder, Brian Austin Whitney, as our featured speaker via skype video. Now, JPF L.A. will reach a much larger audience with Ustream. Of course, the best seat in the house will be right here in the studio and if you live in the L.A. area, you'll definitely want to come. But if you can't, then by all means tune in May 20th at 7:30 p.m. to JPF LA May Meeting - Labor of Love Project

Now, the details... There's a long and great story behind the Labor of Love project and you should check it out at laborofloveproject.com

Just watching the "making of" video on the home page should get you fired up about making music for all the right reasons. But do read about the birth experience on the News page--Lee's account of the experience will top any hospital drama on TV!

One of the best stories about this project is how Lee and Scarlett were able to raise the money to make it happen using kickstarter.com. They set a target of $6500 in 60 days and by the time the pledging closed, they had raised... are you ready for this... over $40,000! To hear how they used social media tools and other clever marketing techniques to reach their target audience, you must be part of this meeting on May 20th.

And, of course, Scarlett will perform a couple of songs from the album, accompanied by the amazing Davy Nathan on piano (Davy recorded the acoustic piano parts for Labor of Love at Theta Sound Studio which is how I was first introduced to the project).

For those who will be here at Theta Sound that evening, the song circle theme is, you guessed it, mothers, so bring a song to perform about mothers, mothers and daughters/sons, mothers' mothers, children, etc.

Do come out for this special meeting (actually, they're all special...). Arrive at 7:15 p.m. to grab some food, get a prime seat and we'll start streaming live at 7:30 sharp.

Please RSVP so we know who's coming in person or watching the stream.
