Hello everyone! Or I should say, hello again! I had an older account here a LONG time ago (ok, maybe more like 10 years ago! :P) but I stopped using it because I had a lot going on and also, I do music under my real name now (I was under a pseudonym before) Basically, I'm Cecilee and I'm a singer/songwriter from the East Coast. I play piano, a little bit of guitar, and I also sing. I would consider my music to be alternative piano pop. If you like the alternative singer/songwriters like Charlotte Martin, Christine and the Queens, or even Kate Bush, my stuff is up your alley!  I also perform regularly on Twitch! On Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons, I'm live on my channel playing my own music as well as various cover songs! You can check that out here! Good to be back here! Christian You can post on any or all of the 3 lyric boards and if you have samples of your music you can also link them and/or post them on the MP3 board.

Hello, I am new here. I have been writing songs since the age of 16. Many times, I have actually thrown my songs away, thinking it would never happen, but I had them online on a website years ago and got my babies back. I will never get rid of them again. Going to keep writing and keep believing!

That's good to hear.
John Lennon, who did a little song-writing himself, lamented 'throwing away' a lot of stuff he wrote as a young boy, young man, and posed the question,
"Who was I to judge?"
As the song-writer you are the first listener.
You make all kinds of judgment calls, and 'complete' your song. Maybe some of your decisions were limited by your experience, shaped by your tastes, flawed by your inexperience, but each was a learning experience influencing the next one you wrote.
The electronic world is often an annoyance, but it's good to hear that you were able to retrieve your works, thanks to the internet.
My philosophy is that there will always be another song to be written. Despite thousands of years of song-writing we have not exhausted the possibilities. Someone will write a great new song and we'll all hear it and many of us will declare it a great new song. So why not you? As long as you keep reaching for your instruments, and exploring what your mind can do with notes and chords and words and tempos and percussion, the possibilities are endless.
