Tapadh leat, a Ghairidh. Tha beagan Gàidhlig agam ach chan eil mi a ’tuigsinn mòran.
I Gaelicized your name and put it in the vocative case LOL.
I recognized the tunes. I used to hear this kind of music quite often growing up. During hard times, particularly in the 18th century, musical instruments could be hard to come by, but people in the Highlands still needed tunes to dance to - hence mouth music.

I thought her execution was rather splendid, not knowing the language myself. She never seemed to be unsure of herself. Rhiannon Giddens, if I remember the name right. Tapadh leat, a Ghairidh. Tha beagan Gàidhlig agam ach chan eil mi a ’tuigsinn mòran. Google Translate: Thank you, Garry. I speak a little Gaelic but I don't understand much. The emotive qualities of the Melody transcend language. Here's a link to her, and perhaps some other Gaelic tunes you'd enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=rhiannon+giddens
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com
