Feedback I've gotten seems to converge on three songs that others consider my best: "Arizona", "Opening Day", and "Still Making It Up As We Go". They probably are. Still, I find that I'm often happiest with something recent. So I'll avoid the issue by not posting my best song. Instead, my favorite song from 2010. It's really a medley of two short songs that were both posted separately this year. I've decided to make them a medley for my next project because they go together on a couple of different levels: Over the Moon For You/Everything's Coming Out Blue is here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=377550&songID=10060128I'll stick the lyric below. Thanks again to Niteshift for the sax part on the first song Scott Over the Moon For You/Everything's Coming Out Blue (c) 2010 by S.W. Campbell Sidewalk busker sees me bouncing along He tips his hat, grabs his axe, starts singing our song A little girl with flowers tosses me a rose And the hustler at the bus stop gives me five down low Everyone sees what’s true I’m over the moon for you Grocer on the corner tosses me a plum A couple cops on horses raise their thumbs And the beat box angels shout and wave hello While the shell game grifter winks a “way to go” Everyone sees what’s true I’m over the moon for you And the music of a saxophone drifts up from the underground How could I ever think that was a mournful sound? A red faced cabbie lays on his horn Cause I’m not really watching where I’m going He shouts, “Buddy live to see her for one more day” He grins and shakes his head as he speeds away Everyone sees what’s true I’m over the moon for you I planted a rose as pink as your nose But then it bloomed a peculiar hue Since you’ve been gone, everything’s coming out blue I think the cherry tree’s feeling just like me Cause it bears an oddly colored fruit Since you’ve been gone, everything’s coming out blue Blue is the thread that weaves its way through empty days Blue is the feeling I can’t shake when you’re away And the fireflies still shine their light But with a color out of true Since you’ve been gone, everything’s coming out blue Blue is the thread that weaves its way through empty days Blue is the feeling I can’t shake when you’re away And the whippoorwill on my window sill Sings his mournful tune Since you’ve been gone everything’s coming out blue
