Heidi, I have another rant. It's about symantics and those who twist stuff just to suit themselves. Take recent media bashing of Carrie Prejean, Miss California.

The pageant officials asked her a question. It was mandatory she answer it. She was trying to be forthright about her beliefs and SLAM-the judges backhand the hell out of her for speaking her mind. A person does not have to be homophobic to prefer traditional marriage between a man and a woman.

I can't stand beauty pageants because ALL the girls are beautiful in their own way. Mostly, the term "beauty" is 99% subjective anyway.

Now, the great state of California (you know, the state she represented in the Miss USA pageant) may resend her crown there because of a broken contract clause that says she denied being photographed nude or semi nude before entering the state pageant.
Seems she was photographed semi clad as a teenager. By that definition, being photographed in a swimsuit is semi-nude, is it not? Of course it is.

They need to leave her alone. If I were her, I'd give the title back to them.

"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek
