Lyrics matter in many ways, one overlooked way is the sound of the words, it just like another instrument in the mix. some words sound better than others, they just do. and even if most of us never understand most lyrics, there are many that do come through, even if its one or two great lines that stop us and say wow, yup

and whats the point of writing a song anyway? to communicate something. If you're doing it as a hobby it shows. you're supposed to be communicating something, not self endulging your ability to rhyme two words.

writing for sake of writing is fun i guess, but its supposed to be heard. Unfortunately for most of us thats not reality.

But for me, im still gonna play the game the way its supposed to be played.

Anyway, somebody 90 years old is only going to listen to, if at all, to music of his youth.

Something about the music that was popular when you were a teenager, defines who you are, and everything else seems to suck.

For that matter, you can intentionally make music that sounds exactly like whatever era youre talking about it, and that person STILL wont really dig it. it's about YOU and your life, and your time, nobody elses.

When i play led zepeplin for a youngster, its hard for me to imagine that they have no use for it, but they dont.

Ill say doesnt that guitar solo excite you? huh? who cares.

but if led zeppelin was suddenly on the radio today again, on pop stations, then kids would be digging it.

something about whats hot, seems correct.
