Just found out today, that tomorrow night I'll be playing Riverbend Music Center Time Warner stage opening for the Moody Blues! I'll be on from 7-8pm!

Just to clarify..I'm not playing "the big stage" they have a smaller stage in the pavilion where they have local acts perform before the show. But I'm playing 7-8pm, to a major concert crowd. As soon as I'm done at 8pm, the Moody's take the "big" stage. I'm being well compensated, and get to see the show for free. I'm not sure if I get a backstage pass though.

It's ALL good MAB! In fact it went so great that they're bringing me back in 2 weeks to do the same for Santana and Steve Winwood!!! They would like me to play as many opening shows as possible, but I'm unable due to previous commitments,{yes I know I'm an IDIOT not to blow off bar gigs for a chance to open for more national acts, but in the big picture, the local bars keep me in buisness, and I can't screw them all over on dates I already have booked! That said, they{Riverbend} claimed that they were blown away by my performance and professionalism {their words!}and next summer they want me to open as many shows as possible! Tonight I sold 10 CD'S in 50 minutes {drinking money!}And I think I opened a LOT of doors professionally. Great night! BTW, The Moody Blues were GREAT!

Congratulations Bob! Also, I admire your professionalism. Back when I played out regularly, I made a promise to myself that I would never back out of a commitment for a "better" gig. Of course, since that situation only came up once, it was pretty easy to stick to my principles.

The coolest thing about this is over the years when I've attended concerts for artists that I cover in my shows {say Neil Young, or the Allman Brothers,} I'll look around at the thousands in the crowd, not knowing any of these people,and think "I know these people would like what I do, but how do I reach them?" Now I've got it covered!HELL YEAH! I put my schedules out on all the tables last night {about 25 total}and only 3 were left when I was done.Everyone else kept them. A VERY good sign!

Bob this is so cool, I'm so happy for you. If possible.... Try, try REAL hard to find a good replacement for you for those other gigs and TAKE those dates for Santana & Steve Windwood. These are wonderful opportunities that don't present themselves often. Cool bro. PS - I have seen Santana six times but never with you opening on any stage!

Santana/Winwood, and Brooks and Dunn/Gary Alan are done deals Mike, I'm there! They've told me I can open as many shows as I want next year! {I'm hoping Neil Young, Bob Dylan, or The Allman Brothers hit there next year., I tried to get in opening for Eric Clapton/Roger Daltrey, or Ringo Starr and the All-Stars{I could have gone to my grave saying that I opened for a BEATLE, but alas, they already had someone else booked for those two. {DAMN!}

Hey there's a couple of clubs that you might get a going with, I went to your web page to listen to some song samples first, but when I try to play them it switches me to the cdbaby page, then i can't find them. I figured I wanted to check out some of your songs to see if they what the clubs usually play. Any secrets to playing those samples? LOl. At any rate here's two clubs that ya might want to call:
