x15: I think you have the backing track music and vocals just about where you want them. Now that you've done all that tweaking, though, you may want to consider re-doing the lead vox one more time. It sounds good as is, but I think it might match everything better if you re-cut it with the new backing. I'd also map out where letha does that voice break thingy, so she doesn't do it too much.
Don't you love when folks suggest more work?

Bloody Kevin ! Now, everyone will read this and we'll have to re-do it..... No, seriously, that is the plan to recut the lead vocal. It just hasn't got the tonal bite of the other tracks, and lyrically, we need to change 2 words of one line. Now that it's formatted, it should be plain sailing ( hopefully ! lol ) Lyrical changes are "I'm fancy free" instead of "I'm 33" to give wider appeal. Check !, on the "voice break thingy " Thanks mate, cheers, niteshift

I just listened to the Soundclick link and downloaded and listened to Mix17. The latest mix is much smoother. I like the way the song gets off to a rousing start with the bluegrass/cajun fiddle. The vocal is still powerful with out being "hot" in places I think. Excellent collaboration!

Hi all,
I just got to listen to Niteshifts 17th mix. I think he has done an amazing job. I am not the easiest vocal in the world to work with, as he has let me know occasionally, lol.
I am so lucky to get to work with such talented people as Geoff and Mark, and many others in here that I have had the pleasure to work with too. I am so grateful for that.
Oh yea, Kevin, someday I might try to whup that Vocal Break thingy back into control, lol but it's got it's own mind sometimes......
Thanks to each and every one of you that took time to listen and offer your helpful suggestions.
Letha
