On Sunday, February 22, 2009, the Buffalo,l New York JPF Chapter is co-sponsoring an important forum for musicians and music producers to be held at the Amherst Campus of the University of Buffalo. The seminar is free (due to the sponsorship of JPF, the UB Jam Club, the Future of Music Coalition, The American Association of Independent Musicians, and the AFofM who are paying the costs for the venue, the speakers, and printing the handout materials). We would like to extend an invitation to our Syracuse Members to attend - it should be worth the drive. Among the subjects that will be covered are: Legal Issues in Music Production and Marketing; Getting Paid for Internet Airplay; Becoming an Independent Record Label; Using Technology to Promote and Distribute Music; DIY Licensing; Basics of Podcasting and Webcasting; The Role of the Music Producer; and New Business Models for Musicians.
