One of the longest-running open mics is held at the Blue Marsh Canteen, Rte. 183 (4 miles north of Reading Airport) in Bernville, Berks County, Pennsylvania, every Thursday night from 8 - 11 p.m. State-of-the-art sound system, super supportive, friendly atmosphere, originals encouraged, covers welcome, must be 21 or over. See www.carrsmusic.com for open mic details.

got a couple.
The Funhouse...Bethlehem, Pa 21 and over, great crowd, laid back. 610-868-5311, new bands welcome, small venue
Shiraz...Emmaus, Pa Another small hippy bar, but also laid back. Used to be Churchill's if you have an old directory.
The Macungie Pub, Macungie, Pa Check out the open blues jam on tuesday night, super talent, great little pub.
Second Avenue Bar. Bethlehem, Pa Not a hippy bar, they prefer funk or newer sounding alternative, but the managment is cool.
Anybody interested in music festivals, try out for Musikfest (held in Bethlehem), I don't know the website but you can probably google it up...it's huge, lots of bands, lots of stages, good time. Also submit to Mayfair in Allentown, smaller than musikfest but very cool too...all have good sponsors, good exposure and professional house sound.
These are a few local gigs you can get without too many headaches for anyone trying to get in someplace in eastern pa. I'm looking for philly gigs, any out there?
