My take on Jazz Fest as a native of N.O.:
So much great music, but so many people. Conditions are less than wonderful (it's held at a thoroughbred racing track). Word has it that they eclipsed the 100K mark in attendance both Saturday and Sunday last weekend.
If you want good jazz in N.O. skip the fest and drop into a place called Snug Harbor. If you like festivals, try the French Quarter Festival. Takes place a few weeks prior (first or second week of April), not as crowded, right on the riverfront where it's cooler. Plenty of food samplings from various N.O. restaurants. Just don't tell too many others about it - wouldn't want to spoil a good thing!!!

Thanks for the info. May be trying to make it your way this summer. Mine's "cool blues" which is blues with Jazz progressions. My drummer use to do the scene there until a few years back when he moved to Nashville. I would love to play in New Orleans. Might make it with the release of the new CD still in the studio though. ------------------ Terri Lynn http://www.mkoc.com/TerriLynn/
