Well,
Writing Happy Songs can be boring and not pitchable in most instances. And if they are they may be passed on or if recorded may bomb.
Look at it this way. You are driving along, humming a happy tune, not paying too much attention and suddenly you drive off a cliff. So you don't want to be surprised by that cliff so you put it right in front of you, hence more realistic songs about real life.
You all just reminded me about one of my songs I may include on the Web Site if and when My Publisher gets around to it. I will post it when it happens.
