I think it was when I was a sophomore in high school. Went to some kind of teen dance in a little town called
Success, Missouri.. They had a 3 piece band trying to crank out the hits of the day, Creedence, etc.. Being
full of myself I told the lady at the door I had a band that was much better (which I didn't) so she hired me
on the spot.lol. I went back home and had to put one together for "The Big Gig" We practiced and practiced.
Put together around 30 songs if I remember right. Ended up with 6 of us in the band. The big night came
and the place was packed. I think we played until 1. We were "Stars", lol.. we made 5 bucks apiece.
Drove to an all night truck stop and celebrated with hamburgers, lol.
