That's why your Big Boss hired you so quickly--he saw in your letter, in your ideas, and in your personality that you have what it takes to ensure things are done, and done well. Good for you! You pushed the RIGHT button! grin

No need to ever doubt yourself. Sometimes our feelings overwhelm us, especially if we've gone through such terrible times as you have. But in the end, it's our DECISIONS that guide us through our feelings. You decided to seek help, you decided to work on getting better, you decided to marry a good man who loves you, and you decided to write that letter. All these decisions help you through the rough patches. You'll always have sad days, but you'll also be able to face them, because you've decided to make good decisions.
