Yeah...living here in Nashville..some of THE BEST music is what I hear at the songwriter nites and open mics and I know it'll never make it to radio. There is just such a huge gap between making great music and getting airplay. Let's watch and see what impact eventually happens as a resultof the internet. Clearly the honchos are very worried because it is already changing how they do business. I agree with you that Nashville is particular...fickle even. They like their artists to be "nice" and mannerly. Sort of a vestige of the Southern manners thang. You are very right in how folks will abuse statistics to "prove" their side of the argument. Happens all the time. I think someone said it in a song as I recall..."a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest"...one of those old "hymns" by S&G!
