All politics aside...I am first and foremost one of those "scientists"...and sadly...science truly does have the answers for what is happening with the ozone. It isn't pretty..and it is no longer something we can just stick our heads in the sand and avoid taking responsibility for. This is a site where you can take a tour of the ozone hole and find out what we do know and the scientific basis for the depletion of the ozone. I sure am not about to debate with anyone who choses to believe that it is bogus. All I can say is...read for yourself and then come back and say it ain't so. [Linked Image] Just because the spin doctors don't want everyone getting scared or making them change our policies that will impact big business in this country...doesn't mean the reality isn't going to hurt us. As far as God not having anything to do with it...heck, there are a lot of us folks who pray every day hoping He does. If not..we are in a lotta trouble and we aren't gonna be able to fix things on our own. [Linked Image] Whether or not our current state has anything to do with an ice age or not...at the current rate of loss of ice around the North Pole...the water is already rising as is the temperature of the ocean...and thus the severity of hurricanes. And climatologists everywhere can show that the rate of ice melt is increasing with such rapidity that in fact we may not be able to reverse it even if we were to totally stop dumping CFCS into the atmosphere tomorrow. Like I said earlier...this isn't politics..and it bothers me that we have allowed politics to determine our decisions regarding things that are far more significant IMO than terrorism. But I digress. I do appreciate the insights here. I am about as patriotic as you can get. I choke up at the National Anthem...but that does not mean I agree with everything that is being done by our nation and by our leaders. That sure does not mean I am unpatriotic. I believe this is the best nation on earth...and I would die for it...but that is why I want to help make sure we take responsibility for making the RIGHT decisions because we ARE the world's leader..and the model for other developing nations. And...being that model comes with a lot more responsibility for being right and doing right.
