Thanks fro that Peter. The mike I have is one of the old ones which has a scew hole to take the mike where the new ones now have a volume control so don't need the duct tape. We call that Gaffa tape down here. The silver stuff we call duct tape. Gaffa for the black band tape. And thanks for the lead to James Cotton's site I have been trying to find him as I wrote words to his The Oven Is On piece and want to see if it is OK to do it. Gotta love this place. Regards.
