I posted this on another forum earlier this week and then realised this might be a better place to ask:

I'm in the process of researching virtual collaborations. My primary goal is to be able to exchange tracks with musician friends who live in other cities. I am looking for any and all information about how to go about this.(Maybe a how-to guide?) My main instrument is drums, and I want to be able to put drum parts to other people's songs and/or be able to replace programmed parts with acoustic drums. I have a fairly strong background in recording and I am a seasoned drummer, but I need to learn the specific in's and out's of working in this format. (How to set up the sessions. How to exchange files etc...)
I understand that this is becoming a common practice,and I've read on this site that some of you know drummers who are doing this type of work. So, I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. THANKS, Kester
