One of the only "problems" I see with Just Plain Folks is that a lot of people assume it is "Folk" music only - and only traditional singer songwriters with an acoustic guitar are welcome. Of course the participants know better, but it can be an obstacle.
Marty my home Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again!
