Mightyfine Guys,
And after spending the last 10 years of my life as a farmer, I can identify.
One little thing stuck out. With all the real farmers that I knew (my farm was more akin to greenhouse farming) I only know for certain that one of them plowed her fields by walking behind a plowhorse. EVERYone else used a tractor. Nice visual, but even small, small farmers (at least where I was) couldn't plow enough land to make a living that way. (the one I knew, had another job on the side)And that was with selling most of the crop at farmer's markets which would double or even triple what the farmer would get selling to wholesalers (which most higher volume farms would have to do)
But that's was Washington. Guess I can't speak for the rest of the country. [Linked Image]
