Marty this is and there is music and lyric activity elsewhere, but this is where you and I chose to engage. We have a history and I am not signing into some nut job website and talk to someone I have no history with and have no clue about to talk politics. I have a lot of respect for you and I know for a fact you pore over your foundations and slabs and make sure they are correctly poured to plan. ...and where else would I find out Elvis is a Genuis?
Now IF HE MADE THE REMARKS??????????????? mmmmm meddlesome Canadians? Careful...showing an insular tendacy toward the rest of world. Is this why you want a strong border?
I am entirely happy to discuss anything about Canada that seems foreboding to you because I know we can do so reasonably in an articulate way, focusing on facts. Been a busy afternoon. Gotta be brief. Foundation is done. Contractor was a total pain in the azz. Had to baby sit it and make him re-do [naughty word removed] multiple times. Politics is poison John. I have seen FB connections lamenting that they had to de-friend longstanding friends because of their position vis-a-vis Trump...and they could not abide blah blah blah. You wanna argue? You wanna derail stated objectives? You wanna degrade a civic discourse? EZ-PZ. Start imposing politics and religion on people who want to discuss, for instance, songs. Its a guarantee. Me Insular? isolationist? I regard it as impossible to block out the world. But I like the idea of building a moat and throwing in some alligators to create as much distance as reasonably possible. btw...coming from a Canadian? Buffered by an ocean, bitter winters and a benefactor nation, ten times your population, who guarantees your safety? Insular you say? Really? Per Socrates..."Know Thyself" If the US did not exist, you would likely be speaking, German, Russian or Japanese. Re: Man in the Hightower. If Canada did not exist, there would be American states there. I know very little of Canada, other than it's beauty and how Charming Quebec City is... and do not care to know more. The focus for an American these days is China and Russia and south of the border. Having said that, I personally, consider Canada to be America's best ally. Others will say Israel or the UK, but Canada is an intertwined trading nation which is much less likely to drag us into a foreign war than the Europeans or Israelis. Try to live up to my illusion. As for reasonable and articulate conversation. No guarantees. I dislike seeing this site polluted with politics, even though its interesting. If I engage a political conversation anyway, my goal will be to avoid knuckledragger name calling, but I wont be concerned with giving offense. And you, should turn your attention to staying warm, not being eaten by polar bears and songs. Marty

"If you are stuck in your musical composing, be unreasonable. Change your environment. If you are stuck in your lyrical efforts, instead of forcing the same old words out, force yourself to do unreasonable things." -Brian Austin Whitney
