We would not have wanted to be imprisoned, tortured and executed for what we believe.

OTOH, had you been alive when Christ was alive, you would have been the personality type that clung unrelentingly and unquestioningly to whatever your pre-existing beliefs were. As a result you would have been much more likely to support the execution of a disruptor, who challenged your beliefs.

Ignorant, reactionary personality types are consistent throughout history.
They either want to destroy anything that advocates for change,
or they want to destroy anything that won't change.

And your end-times advocacies are you calling on God to destroy the world...for you.
