Everett, we have a tax treaty with the USA so the max witholding rate for you is 15%
Whatever tax you pay to the USA is then available as a credit against Canadian taxes
No real hurdles...whoever pays you takes your info and prepares necessary US income slips that you can use.
I expect you have an ITIN
