This is another pointless argument , you're religious I'm not . Elvis, You can bow and pray to a can of Pork-n-Beans 5 times a day and call it your religion... but you'll never find God. Believe me when I tell you I'M NOT RELIGIOUS. The Bible is not a book of religion... It's a history book written by prophets guided by the Spirit of God. Your right that it's not a book of religion, but refuse to believe anything else. It's Historical correctness is lacking, unless you really try to bend it your way. side other more accurate historical sources. The Bible's historicity varies throughout its contents because it was composed and redacted over several centuries. Here are some reasons why the Bible is not considered a complete historical document: Historical context Scholars consider the historical context of Bible passages, the importance the authors placed on events, and how the descriptions of events compare to other historical evidence. Biblical literalist chronology Scholars and historians do not consider the dates and details of events in the Bible to be established historical facts. Purpose of biblical archaeology Some scholars believe that the purpose of biblical archaeology is to be its own field of study, rather than to support or discredit the Bible. However, some say that archaeological evidence confirms the historical accuracy of the Bible. For example, there is evidence of: Ancient churches and Peter's house in Capernaum First-century fishing boats in the Sea of Galilee Roman soldier graffiti confirming the existence of Christians in the Roman army DNA evidence of leprosy in the Middle East during Jesus' time Evidence of other crucifixion victims
