Yes entire landscape is shifting as truth becomes relative and suspect and lack of ability to rely on "face value"

Thank goodness for Daisy, one of the good guys Brian referenced

Best part is apparently three scammers tried to get the dear old lady about an hour to type www. into her web browser

Well, sounds great and all, but most scammers are directly tied into government around the world. This is why even when you "catch" one, they just reopen immediately and keep going. If India or whichever country is their actual origin (frankly most are directly out of the USA and use accents to fool people) won't actually stop the ones caught red handed (you can find all sorts of people on YouTube who actually reverse scam the scammers) then it will never end.

But I think a far more sinister game is being played. These scammers, spammers and bots have cut nearly all communication tech off at the knees. No one uses email much, no one trusts anything coming in as a phone call, most texts are now spam or pointless, so this young generation rarely uses ANY od these things to communicate. What is dangerous to government? People communicating outside of the platforms where THEY control every word. How can anyone rise up if they do not trust any method of communication. Everyone has a phone in their pocket, and less people use actual phone communication than at any time since the adoption of phones as a technology. Email, the cheapest way in history to communicate to millions of people at once, has been destroyed. I spent 30 years building a meticulous email list of 125K musicians, and now if I send something out, it only gets opened by about 1K of them. It costs me $120 to send it meaning it is like sending a postcard to those 1K people, which would be more effective, but it means I can never reach those 125K people. I have a professional email service but they can't control Gmail and Yahoo and AOL (yes, it still exists) to deliver anything. And they do not deliver, not even to my own email addresses. Only the 1K people on my list with their own servers/email accounts ever see my correspondence. I can't talk to our members. Likewise, Gmail has stopped delivery my registration emails for this message board. So I can't get any new sign ups and we haven't figured out an affordable alternative solution yet. This forces ALL communication onto social media. Well, YouTube may let you get millions of subscribers, but they will NOT let you know who they are, nor can you contact them directly. YouTube always gets to decide who sees what. Facebook is the same. Though I do have an offline list of all my Facebook "friends" I still have to contact them 1 at a time via messenger if I really want them to get a message. And Facebook keeps and monitors all private messages. Twitter/X is the same. So are all the rest.

So stuff like A.I. Granny looks great, but it really is just noise. It is meaningless. The governments behind these scam centers know what they are up to and are unaffected. And it simply further erodes trust and use of communication tools.
