Tony is going to start preaching , like there ain't no other way to look at it. Jesus or nothing Even an atheist can re-define God and live by the 10 Commandments... That's not an accomplishment. I'd rather be FORGIVEN than perfect Yes what your saying is morality can exist without belief in God. I tried to articulate that morality and even love was developed... it wasn't in bread. Most animals are battling for resources, humans no different. If everybody around you is looking for food and shelter, morality is not an option Man figured out that wasn't the way to do it, over millions of years, read on..... If you don't believe me Morals come from a combination of innate human abilities, evolution, and social and cultural influences: Evolution Morality is a mental ability that evolved to help humans live in large social groups. It includes the ability to sense fairness, empathize, and judge others' actions. Nurture Morals are also learned through social interactions and exposure to environmental factors. Children learn morals from family, friends, and society as a whole. Culture What is considered moral varies by culture and time. Cultural norms, traditions, and religious beliefs play a role in shaping moral frameworks. Brain Specific parts of the human brain are involved in moral reasoning. Damage to these parts can alter moral judgment and behavior. Joint attention The ability to take the perspective of another person and see ourselves through their eyes lays the foundation for moral reasoning. So... you're the "missing link", and I believe in talking snakes and poison apples. What's next? What's the big picture, Dom? What fluke of evolution causes these superstitions and fairytales to persist despite a man's capacity for higher reasoning? What natural order condemns such a man to a life of ridicule? I don't even know what you said. What superstition and fairytale? Perhaps if God created people without doubt, all knowing, believing without evidence, then you wouldn't ask these questions. But he didn't, he gave us great reasoning which is why we discover. Something is not true cause you say it is
