yeah seems like thats where it might come from. Probably much Van Halen and the lesser known Buckethead... influences
but id say even VH would have a hard time doing what he was doing there. Hell never be VH soloing.
But we use the term genius kind of loosely, id call this kids playing genius. But like most things, musicianship in and of itself is not what draws people, in his case its the spectacle of it. But who would buy it?
