And, for the record:
I vote my conscience, not my party. I have voted both Democrat and Republican. Just happens that, these days, with the broadening partisan divide, there is one side that more-clearly reflects my own views.
But, that side is, even now, drifting farther away from the center. Makes it harder to compromise, as the other side is doing the same.
