By their very actions... the founding father's intended this former colony to be a Christian Nation. Look at the back of a dollar bill and most of our coins. "In God We Trust!" - The US Constitution came into force in 1789. - "In God We trust" first appeared on U.S. coins in 1864. - "In God We Trust" was not the official motto of the United States until 1956. - "In God We Trust" has appeared on paper currency only since 1957.
