The lyrics are a good read, well done going from to the storm to the lover to the drugs -- and it's all tied together with the hook line. Very fine performance from Paul, nice playing and singing. My only suggestion would be to treat "No way out if I don't play it right..." as a bridge (I think you are already are) and change the music and/or the delivery even more during that part. Pretty good stuff, for sure.
