Yeah, it's a solo/acoustic release. I just sat down in front of the mics, and played and sang. Did a good deal of the mixing, too. Just need to add a harmony or 2, and mix the thing and it's done. Quickest recording session I've ever been a part of.

You obviously had learned your songs before hand.
Well done, I,m inclined to do work demo's until i'm satisfied
the song/ songs are right. before I jump to serious studio time.
I sort out everything in a home studio then I bring in Top
musicians and build up a finished demo.at home.
What styles do you write? and have you a band where you can try
our your songs on the public?
One of the most important principles of songwriting is to remember that a good song is a partnership of many different components, all working together to produce a satisfying musical experience.
In that respect, song components are either enhancing or compromising their combined effects.

Thanks for the kudos. I generally write kinda indie-pop stuff (newer style influenced by The Kinks, The Beatles, and other classic 60's pop-style bands). But, the longer that I am writing just for myself, acoustic, and not for a band, I am leaning more toward a classic country sound. (But those pop leanings are still in there, too.) As far as trying my stuff out on the public, I'll play a couple of open mics here and there. Or, if I have a booked gig, I'll throw them out there and see what kind of response they get.

Todd, Ten songs in 7 hours is knocking them out pretty fast. It sounds like you're on a roll. Ride the waves while they're breaking!!!

10 songs in 7 hours. Wow! That's like The Beatles' first album.

wow, seems like a hero session! think if everything goes well is a good way to record - somehow you can set the same 'mood' for the whole album. How did you feel about it? I would have been quite scared of the challenge ...

I just set up a couple of mics, sat down in front of 'em, and played the songs. Did a few takes of each.
As to how I feel about it: none of the recordings are perfect, but I was willing to sacrifice perfection (unattainable anyway) for a good feel.
Did a couple of overdubs -- percussion and harmony vox -- a few days later. Just because when I listened back, I was hearing those things in my head.
Oh, and the whole thing just went off to mastering today. Should be ready to press in a couple o' weeks.

Wow, 10 songs in 7 hours?? Impressive! Now that's striking while the iron's hot. Great job! As a side note, I've just checked out your stuff on Facebook which lead me to your Bandcamp page. Will definitely give a listen tomorrow. You seem to have a pretty eclectic style.

Thanks Ann! Hope that you like what you hear. And, if you don't, that is totally cool. None of what's up right now is from this 7-hr. session. That stuff is all off at mastering right now. Hopefully I'll have it up soon.

Masters just arrived in my mail yesterday. So far (on 3 different systems) they sound good. Nice and clear.
