I think this song so wonderfully tells the man's story with such pride and reflection that you can't help but be moved by it. A lot of great lines that say more than what they "say"....just great writing!

I remember this song. Can't remember the previous audio, but it's sounding great !

I remember the song, as a good mate of mine lives in Hawaii, and along with others, speaks of the strange reverence of the monument when you visit it. And you've captured that perfectly, with honesty and dignity.

Also, I had an uncle that was a Lancaster bomber pilot for the RAF in WW2. He didn't say much about it, but you could see an almost guilt that he survived and others didn't. ( He flew, from memory, 29 missions, where you weren't supposed to come back, on average, after 22 )

So, through those 2 things, I remebered the song. Great job, you captured the whole feeling, without being morose, really well.

Great job as usual. I had seen a documentary or special on this maybe PBS or history channel where it talked about how the Airzona is leaking fuel on a daily basis (almost like she's shedding tears) but anyway it was/is causing a real environmental threat to the underwater life, etc so they are discussing what steps need to be taken to address the problem.

I think it's great to keep history alive especially through a song. We have a couple Pearl Harbor movies and it's such a shocker when the guys are on deck in the early am raising the flag and having their little ceremony and out of no where comes the enemy planes and they are so caught off guard thinking initially they were US planes.

My only thought was and it might be need to just see if it works, would be at your bridge/refrain part try singing the song without pauses between the lines and just have each line go right into the other. You have pauses throughout the whole rest of the song and this would speed up that part but also give it more contrast there to set it apart more as a bridge.

Thanks for sharing and caring enough about the subject to write about it. (and write well)

The last verse...telling the brothers how it felt to do these things..wow....I have to let my mom hear this when she comes over tonight..She has been to Pearl Harbor...and it made her cry.
