Yes, thanks, Mike. Appreciate it. (And yes, I know it's all Bush's fault.)

I'll copy this post on this page so folks just coming on know about this. We're going to write a group song. I wrote the backing track music and sang the hook. You all put your parts in on the track. You can either sing them or rap them, as you see fit. Here it is reprinted from page one. ##########################################3 OK, here's the track: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8214085Now, you download it, for only $1.00 Ha Ha just kidding, download it free, of course, put your voice to it. I've done different sections with different "holes" to add your part, depending on how many beats or measures you need. If there's not enough room, just record it over my vocal. Then send me an mp3 OF YOUR VOCAL TRACK ONLY I'll choose the ones I'm going to use. The choice will not be based on politics, I don't care if you are pro or anti Bush. Everyone I choose will be equal cowriters of the lyrics, I'm taking the music. Then we'll look for a video producer over on the video forum. If anyone has any problems with the cowrite or wanting to control our release, we just won't use your stuff. Be funny, no cussing or profanity, no over the top slams on anyone (for example, I wouldn't even use the bridge lyrics I wrote myself). If I don't use you and you want to complain, I will write here exactly why I didn't use you. Don't ask for the truth if you don't want it published \:\) Have fun, make it funny. Record clearly, enunciate. Don't add reverb or heavy compression. Don't mumble. Don't get morose or shocking. My email address is: mike @ mikedunbarmusic dot com Of course it has no spaces and the dot is just a "." but I don't want bots finding my dots. If that's confusing, you can find it in my profile. All the Best, Mike

By the way, if you decide to sing your part, you get cowrite on the music too. But it will be tough to sing, it would have to sound killer. It would be easier to do a recitation or rap. Remember, make it fun, make it jump, make it funny and interesting...both the lyric and the performance.

I like the beat. You're right--it'd be good for rap. Needs, as they say, more cowbell--but i think I can borrow one from our drummer.

That's a rough mix, as they say, with everything but the kitchen sink, plus it's mixed hot, the final will be cleaner. There will be breakdown sections where a cowbell would sound divine.

Hey Mike, I have a question. Is the track written in the same meter as your original lyrics? Should we follow that? I'm only asking because I'm too lazy to hook up my printer (Bush's fault) and don't want to go back and fourth between JPF and Soundclick.
The track reminds me of Zappa's "I'm The Slime", an old Rap song.

Only when it's one refrain per measure is it in the same meter. I also did per four measures, and the last part of the track has no refrains. Just record what works and I can make them fit. It's played at 120 bpm, and I will loop it to accommodate the lyrics. I'm also planning on doing some breakdowns and may also add another groove section.

Mike, I didn't think it was possible to use "divine" and "cowbell" in the same sentence. I was wrong. (It was Bush's fault.)

Do real men even say "divine"? Or "Fabulous"? Or eat Quiche in public?

Now record it, BC! Send it to me in an mp3. You can recite it at 120 bpm, or download the track and sing it to it, but don't send me a mix on the track, send me just the vocal by itself.

Mike, I'm completely "computer stupid" I have no idea how to pull it off, in fact, it's become a major obstacle in sending my stuff to music libraries. Pump Audio was the only one to accept actual CD's. Everyone else wants MP3's and I'm clueless how to do it.. Feel free to help me out.

It's easier than you think, Bob. If you can send an email, you can send an mp3. We'll start here. Do you have any way to record at home?
