A little fun with Buddy Brock and Zach Turner`s "Watermelon Crawl"
© DANOLYRICS 2002
"Piney River Crawl"
I was driving south a Nashville on June 13, On a day hot enough to make the devil scream, I saw a homemade sign it was written in red, Hickman County Piney River Picnic Ahead,
This was the place I wanted so I slowed down, Took a two lane road to a one Dawg town, There was a party going on when I got there, I heard a welcome speech from a guitar player.
He said we got a hundred gallons of homemade brew, Down in the river keeping cold for you, Help yourself to some but obey the law, If you drink don`t drive do the Piney River Crawl.
When the band started playing Mountain Mama said, Let me show ya something make ya shake your head, She grabbed me by the arm said come on let`s go, She dipped down spun around doe-see-doed,
She rocked back on her heels dropped down to her knees, Crawled across the floor then she jumped back on her feet, She wiggled and she giggled beat all you ever saw, Said this is how you do the Piney River Crawl.
She said we got a hundred gallons of homemade brew, Down in the river keeping cold for you, Help yourself to some but obey the law, If you drink don`t drive do the Piney River Crawl.
Well, if you`re ever near Nashville round about mid-June, If you ain`t in a hurry visit you know who, I can guarantee that you`re gonna have a ball, Learning how to do the Piney River Crawl.
Dawg`s got a hundred gallons of homemade brew, Down in the river keeping cold for you, Help yourself to some but obey the law, If you drink don`t drive do the Piney River Crawl.
Do the Piney River Crawl, Have fun you all, Do the Piney River Crawl.

I don't know "Watermelon Crawl" from "Watermelon Wine", but for an inside-joke sort of thing, this lyric was a lotta fun. This "Mountain Mama" of which you speak-- she is one dextrous lady! Thanks for the fun read. I probably won't be joinin' you guys down there, so have fun!

Nothing like a bit of forward planning dan. I am going to keep a copy of this to see how close you get to the real thing. That way we will know if your a psycic , or psycotic yeah (sp) for both of them. Bounces along rel good Cobber. I was expecting it to go into a swimming thing as in Australian Crawl. Shoulda known better. REgards. Graham ------------------ http://artists2.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Graham_Henderson/

Mike, Sunny, Anthony, Blake, Stan, and Graham Ummm,...y`all are kidding right? I`ll say this...the ONLY way I do this one on the porch...is if Mountain Mama does the dance! And remember now...I can`t play no musical instruments...unless you count backin up Stan on his "One Note" BWANNNNNNNGGGGGGG guitar riff. If the band plays it...and Bobbie dances it...then by golly Dano will TRY, and dare I say...SING it. Thanks for checking it out! Dan. www.angelfire.com/music3/danolyrics

Hey DanoBro, I just knew someone was going to take a first crack at this, and let me say you've raised the bar pretty high here. Lots of fun imagery and that "one dawg town" is brilliant.
Seeya down there!

Dano,
In all candor let me say that you have bestowed on my dear Missus a lyrical degree of dexterity unmatched in real life.
She had a skiing accident which left her in the hospital for two years (like the Sony Bono thing only she was the tree) and then about six months ago she fell into an excavated root cellar about seven feet onto a stone floor and really messed up her knee again.
So it looks like you may be safe from having to sing this one.<g>

Jean, John and Dawg, Jean, Geez...ya know there`s still time to book a flight for Sister Mary Catherine. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/wink.gif) John, Well...now if the bar is raised...does that mean ya need a ladder to get on the barstool? Dawg, Yep...knew about the ski accident...didn`t know she decided to do a half gainer into a root cellar though! Maybe I did and forgot! Anywho...if the 3 AMIGAS(Tink,Ria,Ricki) will do the dancing part...I might could try this one. How bout it ladies???????? Thanks again Sis, JV and Dawg. Dan. www.angelfire.com/music3/danolyrics
