Could you please post 2 CDs I have listed on CD baby? The are in the new age genre...and their titles are "You are StarDust" and "Paint Your Soul".

I was researching some info for an awards nominee and visited their CD Baby page and saw they were linked in this gallery. (There's a few more I imagine as well), but it was cool to see. So I wonder if anyone can guess who it might be? About 2% of the CD's entered will get a nomination this year. So out of 600 or so posts, that means probably 12 of the folks linked will get a nomination if the math holds up here.

Hey Java,
We want to create new Gallery's for each of our nominated albums for the awards. Is this something that multiple people could do, or does it need to be 1 person? I am trying to decide whether to just do the album or also the albums that individual songs are on. Also whether it should be all the nominated albums combined, or should we do gallerys by genres? We have over 75 genres this year (yeah.. lots of em!). I was looking around on CD Baby and I don't even see the way to make a gallery?

Brian All one needs is an account with cdbaby and a password, which can be shared if more than one person wants to manage the account. As far as genres go, you may need to create new accounts for each different one. I say that because when the gallery reaches a certain size, it starts auto-selecting placement to seperate each album into whatever genre the artist listed on his/her control panel upon setup. But, if you keep each Gallery within the size limit before it begins to auto-seperate genres, you can title each gallery with their own 'genre,' or however you wish to categorize them. As far as gallery creation, you must first log in to your artist account at www.cdbaby.net . Once you are logged in, select the 'Member Tools' tab at the top of the page. The second to the last link on this page will say: Make a Group/GalleryGroup all of your albums on to one page, so you can send your fans to one easy web address. You can also use this to make a gallery of other people's albums.Click on that link & get started. Let me know if you have any further questions. Good luck! ------------------ JavaMusiK

I am not a CD Baby artist member so that explains why I can't do it. We could create genre specific galleries, but it seems you're saying that we'd need different accounts to do each one? Is that correct? We have over 80 genres of music this year.. so that would be a nightmare. Each one has either 8 album nominees or 8 album nominees and 16-27 song nominees. That's a big job for sure, but finding 80+ different people is impossible and there's no reason to even try in that case.

Brian</font> Brian, You definitely would not need 80 people to create 80 different galleries. One very dedicated person could do it all on one account. They would just set up 80 different galleries on their account. But yes, you do need to have a paid account there where you are selling a cd and have complete access to everything in www.cdbaby.net . The other option may be for you to personally get in touch with Derek and see if he can work in tandem with you on this since you have seemed to have some previous cross-promotion going on before. Or he may be able to set you up with an access point to go ahead and add these galleries without a paid cdbaby account. As far as the singles go, I don't see how you can promote those individually without featuring the rest of the cd they happen to be on, in each genre's gallery. Jeff ------------------ JavaMusiK

Ideally that is what we would do.. feature the CD's from which the songs came from. At the very least it would be an easy way for anyone to check out the first 2 minutes of most of the nominated songs (not everyone is on CD Baby.. but at least 90% of the nominees are).
I asked for volunteers but no one seemed interested. I am sure it's not quick work as you seem to spend a ton of time creating this one gallery and we have app. 1380 songs up for nomination and app. 660 album nominees.

Hey Folks,
It has come to my attention that I have been somewhat remiss in the upkeep with the CDBaby Gallery recently.
Not to make excuses, but with the fall & Christmas seasons come many school & church music programs of which I am either the director or accompanist, meaning other projects generally receive little to no attention. (Just ask my wife.)
Anyway, I will be sure to go through & get these necessary updates taken care of over the next couple days.
