I'm moving to Brattleboro and want to meet folks to play music. I've been playing in bands in the Richmond, Virginia area for the past 20 years. Before that I was playing in the Washington DC area. Have played in blues bands, folk/pop trios backing up female singer/songwriters, honkytonk bands, gypsy jazz, funk/reggae/world bands. Main instruments played are guitar, bass guitar, steel guitar, lap steel and mandolin. Most recent bands were a honkytonk band that played Hank Williams and other 50's country material and a Carter Family Tribute band centered around a female singing trio. Available for studio work, gigs, jams, etc.

Stephen,
I am sure you will find lots of people to play music with, here. There are a number of open mics and two song writer's circles in the area. When are you moving?

Michael, Thanks for responding. I wasn't sure if this board saw much activity. I plan to move up around mid-November. Will be living in Brattleboro but am open to playing anywhere in the surrounding area.

Heya Stephen,
Actually this board doesn’t see a whole lot of action. But there are a lot of stellar players in the Brattleboro area.
Also, we’re located in a good area with New Hampshire & Massachusetts just down the road (depending on which road you take).
My email is in my profile, drop me a line, I might be looking for players to perform a song at the Women’s Film Festival in February; my fiancé and I are performing the James Brown song, “It’s a Mans Mans World”. No money involved, but it should be good exposure.
Take Care, Rick

Rick, Tried sending you an email and it bounces back. Can you email me so that I can capture your correct address? Thanks...

"Just Plain Folks is like a plow. A plow is a tool that can be used to help feed thousands of hungry people. But there are two groups of people on the planet. One group of people realizes that for the plow to help feed people, they must actually USE the plow to prepare the field to grow the food to feed the people. The second group of people are the ones who stand and stare at the plow and wait for the food to drop out of it. Of course that group is much smaller because those people all eventually starve to death." –Brian Austin Whitney
