I have a green Bullet mike and while it fits into my palm nice, I don't really like the sound i get out of it. I much preffer the Tone out of a Shure 85. Anybody got any tips on how to set these up for a good bluesey tone please? I also like to have my harp on a stand so I can move away during the vocals but still keep going some so I can then move in for any fills and breaks as they come. How do harp players who hang on to the mike cope with this? Thanks for the forunm Brian. REgards. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/grahamhenderson_music.htm

I don't know from harps, but I would suggest doing a google search in *groups* for "green bullet" or something like that, and see where it leads you. I did a search for "harp tone" and found reference to James Cotton's web site where he answers questions. Kind of changes my image of Mr. Cotton...
Bearing in mind the disclaimer above--leaving it on a stand etc... well I have to say the word "Ductape" comes to mind.

Thanks fro that Peter. The mike I have is one of the old ones which has a scew hole to take the mike where the new ones now have a volume control so don't need the duct tape. We call that Gaffa tape down here. The silver stuff we call duct tape. Gaffa for the black band tape. And thanks for the lead to James Cotton's site I have been trying to find him as I wrote words to his The Oven Is On piece and want to see if it is OK to do it. Gotta love this place. Regards. Hey Graham, I used to work with a great blues harp player named Roguie Ray. He used a green bullet and he ran it through a Fender Twin Reverb like a guitar player, I beleive he even used a chorus. He seriously honks. He would sing through a '58 and hold the bullet in his hand with the harp. Sometimes for effect, he would sing through the bullet. ------------------ Mike Dunbar Music
You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music

Thanks Mike. I have tried it through a metal worker and chorus pedal both combined and singly and one day will get a song I want that sound on I am sure.gets very dirty for sure. Ditto for the sing through the bullet also. with and without the pedals it has possablities for the unusual. So far I haven't recorded any with the bullet but one day.So far I have only used the reverb and mixer on the karaoke unit I laugingly call my pre-amp setup. Regards.
