DIXIE Casual Observer D Joined: Apr 2001 Posts: 4 Fort Bragg, California	I really liked this "hippie" themed song, and I live near Mendocino County here in Calif. which is a real hippie inhabited area, for sure. I think they grow more pot there than anything else. lol Anyway, I like the theme, the verses are all short and good, well rhymed, and all. One line I noticed: Told me what you wear at night. I thought she was only a fantasy, so she couldn't really tell him that, right? I dunno, I'd probably change that one. The chorus I thought needs some more descriptive lyrics; doesnt tell us too much about the storyline. Maybe tell us more about what he sees "in his mind" ...and I dont know about that LOVE BALLOON either. It doesnt sound too realistic, but then, this IS a fantasy story so maybe it works?? Basically, it's a good tune. A little more tweaking, and you'll have it perfected. Dixie

It's already been suggested to me that I REPLACE the word hippie, but Im gonna leave it. And as far as the line about what she wears at night, I think that whole thing could also be in his mind couldnt it ? I wondered if someone would question that. And the love balloon seems to sound "RIGHT ON" while being sung, maybe see what someone else thinks. Thanks a bunch and have a beautiful day Calvin

With the right music it could be a throwback to the summer of love days. I do think that the chorus is just a tad "empty," meaning it doesn't say a lot to move the storyline along. The chorus might be a good place to explain in a line or two why he can only love her in his mind. What is it that's keeping them from getting together? Not bad overall. Good luck with it.
