There's a informal music mixer that happens on Tuesday nights at Volcano on Bissonett (near Kirby). The mixer is from 6pm to 10pm. Come with information about your music business (band, songs, merchandising, radio, etc.) and introduce yourself to others operating in the same capacity.
I'd especially like to see more Just Plain Folks members in attendance. Again, it's an informal mixer so be prepared to introduce yourself, discuss each other's business, and have fun building Houston's music scene. The time is ripe.

I have been going to these for a few weeks now, and they're great. I always meet new people. For example, last night I met Ivan (the previous poster). Anybody in Houston interested in the music scene should make an effort to get to one of these meetings.

Steve - did you make it out? We had a great turnout, a couple dozen folks. For all the rest of you, this is still going strong and gaining steam, so come on by and check it out, every tuesday at the Volcano! Hey all - the event is still going strong. Come on out tomorrow night (7/22). The event gets going around 6:30 / 7pm, and usually wraps up at 9:30 or 10. Bring a few demo CDs if you have 'em, business cards, and flyers for your upcoming shows. The volcano often provides free appetizers, and they've got a great selection of beers and other drinks. The meeting is in the side room - straight ahead if you come in the main door, past the pool table.
