Just a reminder that next Wednesday Feb 4 is the monthly chapter meeting. I hope to see you there.

Can somebody tell me when/where the chapter meetins are? I'm assuming that they are open to all members? Lee Anna ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/9/troublewithmonday.htm

Hi Leeanna,
Sorry to keep you waiting for a reply. Chapter meetings are mostly a function of demand. In other words, every once in awhile a member will sit up and demand a meeting, and then it happens.
A bit of background may be in order. Once upon a time, the Indy JPF group hosted a sort of monthly Open Stage, called a "Showcase". An Open Stage session was either kicked off, or followed by an "invitational", that is a professional line up more or less guaranteed to put on a good show. That way, even if the Open Stage was less than stellar, the overall impressin was usually quite good.
Then the venue where the JPF Showcase was held went out of business, and things have been pretty spotty ever since.
Keep in mind, this is all in the context of a down economy, post 9/11 jitters, etc. There is a glimmer of hope that an improving economy will help boost the number of JPF friendly venues, and things will start back up "real soon now".
If you scan down the list, you'll see a series of posts about meetings from last winter, and some ideas we've been discussing about how to make a new Indy JPF Showcase a very attractive "gig", in order to pique the interest of potential new JPF members.
I have E-Mailed the few local JPFers that I know, and hopefully a meeting date will show up here in the near future.
Thanks for your interest! Emmit Sycamore sixstringsnsongs@yahoo.com (317) 894-8840

"The commercial that says "you never get a second chance to make a first impression" may be true. Our job should be making sure that we give the person we are judging the chance to make that first impression themselves, in person, for real." –Brian Austin Whitney
