Copyright is automatic upon creation of the piece. Having said that, of course proving it if challenged can be another thing and "he with the deepest pockets usually wins". To add to what Lagusaya said, for the US$35, you can register the copyright for one song, or many songs as a compilation, thus saving yourself some money. Here's the link to the US Library of Congress Copyright Offic eweb-site. http://www.loc.gov/copyright/ Be sure to use the right form when submitting or you'll really be delaying the process. Tom
