“Drill Baby Drill” strikes a compelling, deliberate contrast: musically, it’s laid-back and bright, but lyrically, it carries a heavy, urgent message. It’s a protest song about the modern ecological crisis that takes familiar slogans and turns them into cynical commentary on the long-term consequences of prioritizing short-term extraction over long-term survival. I recorded the chorus on my iPhone and uploaded the melody in Suno. Once again, the vocals are an AI-generated version of my voice. Drill Baby Drillhttps://soundclick.com/song/15319073[Instrumental Intro] [Verse] The river's running dry again The barges can't get through The fields are turning brown and gold Beneath a burning blue Summers keep getting longer The nights don't cool us down And every year the waterline Moves closer to our town [Pre-chorus] We know what's happening We know the score We've had the warning We've heard it before [Chorus] Drill baby drill Till the oceans spill Burn baby burn Why didn't we learn? We waited too long Now the tide's rising strong We'll live with the cost Of the future we've lost [Break] [Verse] The ocean's getting hotter now The coral's turning white The fish are disappearing From the waters once alive The glaciers lose another mile The sea climbs toward the shore Every storm that comes our way Seems stronger than before [Pre-chorus] We know what's happening We know the score We've had the warning We've heard it before [Chorus] Drill baby drill Till the oceans spill Burn baby burn Why didn't we learn? We waited too long Now the tide's rising strong We'll live with the cost Of the future we've lost [Bridge] We had the time We had the means We had a choice Between the fire and the green [Interlude] [Final chorus] Drill baby drill Till the oceans spill Burn baby burn Why didn't we learn? We waited too long Now the tide's rising strong We'll live with the cost Of the future we've lost [Outro] Drill baby drill (drill) Till the oceans spill Burn baby burn... Why didn't we learn?
