It's about a
. social gathering place on the world wide web. a
a place where dreams have come and gone, and most people have come and gone

Liken it to a dying bar that posts your picture on the wall, only a few regulars left, but the remains are one bizarre character after another.

They convene for a unified purpose, their dreams are shot, but won't give up without a fight, and they can't seem to pull away from each other, regardless of how much discord and differences of opinion exists

Something about this place brings these few patrons back.

It's an island of misfits who get something out if the chaos.

Now I know you must be wondering, where did I come up with such a strange idea, not sure.

But I need characters , I need a specific time and place. I need a history and an ending

Where will I get the characters from?

Dom I have no idea where you will be able to draw inspiration from to write the lyric...but the title can be "Chairs" and the visual can be a line of empty barstools, except for a huddle in the corner.

Speaking of huddles...bye bye Chiefs is official now. Can't see them climbing back this year

If you scan through the old threads I said the chiefs were done after week 2

They suck is about the size of it,nobody can hold on to the ball but it's an ongoing issue you use all your salary cap on one player you get guys who can't catch as support
plus kelce is thinking about marrying Taylor, he drops everything these days

And really it was their defense that stepped up, this year not so much they are so done

We have an evangelist, a carpenter , an accountant a architect, all on a songwriting site, guess y can add a bookie and a bookie buster

I'll still take mahomes any day. He still frustrates defense with his ability to get away, and hits the ball on the chest of these guys they just drop it

They are exposing his weakness if you pressure him from the inside, let him step up few feet, he has hard time escaping the second level still sn elite qb though

You have to modify my tag Dom....mostly retired now. So when you are writing, you can send me out for snacks while the others run their businesses from their stools or podiums as they see fit.

And to get full enagement, maybe ask JLS to write the background music...hard to compete with the Original Cheers theme, but Chairs might just rip off errr riff off some of that

There used to be a guy named Paul Pederson, member here and other sites, good songwriter and from Jersey too .

He did this idea with a bar, one of my favorite songs in a forum he once taught me when it write, put your Dick in your hand and let it flow out lol great advice.

Your song is incomplete Rob. You didn't mention the Gerlymonyan with TDS who fled the orange plague and evil empire and returned to the comforts of Gerlymonya...

Without the inclusion of that misfit , your lyrics are a lacking misrepresentation.

And of course none of that actually represents any living person. It's all hypothetical and imaginary, but needs to be included.

Marty, I never said my lyrics were hypothetical — just capturing the real misfits and chaos of the forum in song form. Did I forget anybody… like the mighty Gerlymonyan?

All of that is fine enough and entertaining.

However, you failed to include the Gerlymonyan in your depiction of the hopeless misfits, so your depiction is incomplete.

Dom, I have to send out a big thank you to you for inspiring me to write this song. It was fun and I have to admit that it sounds great. I would have never written this without your post. This proves to me that this site isn't dead yet.

Apparently when "mirror on the wall," didn't work as a baited mouse-trap, you felt the iresistable impulse to move over here to sharpen the focus and move out from behind the pretense of a person who has no bad intentions.

Marty, just to clarify — ‘Mirror on the Wall’ wasn’t written about you. This song on the other hand was inspired by the mix of personalities on the board — you, Dom, Tony, Ben, and myself included. We’re all part of this cracked-up storyteller crew.
