I've had this hook for prolly 20 years, I've done it in many style. Just changed the lyrics today, thought might have a country song, alt country. Anyway. Here's a teaser... Run it by ya https://www.udio.com/songs/akzjUwiE3Jod6bmwJYHxcjSlap my face Put me in my place Take my underwear and run Shout "he's a loser", adolescent schmoozer Ok, it's all been done A child could tell what you're tryna do start again And come at me true Cause, There ain't no easy way to lose you No lack of sunshine No shot of moonshine i know this may confuse you There ain't no easy way to lose you Piss me off Nail me to a cross I got the thickest skin around Take my cash Tell me kiss my ass You're still the prettiest girl in town But you don't have to sell your lies Only have to wave good bye

As for not commenting or not posting...or only posting on Rob's song....he is fresh air at a place that had turned into Tony & Marty slugfest which both sides see as simple entertainment with you coming in with side snipes.
I certainly lurked and read some of the errr creative goings on...but was not participating. Likely has to do with me respecting Brian's place here...he's tried to turn things, to mediate things, to guide things...but to no avail. Staying out of things was to me doing Brian a favour.
But I see that this is entirely hopeless as nothing can be posted here anymore without the trio of usual suspects coming in to roil things around. That hurts, John... not sure why, but it does. Everyone keeps stirring me into the same pot as these other idiots. I really don't understand how I deserve that. I need someone to explain it. Tell you what, I'll do whatever YOU say, John. Set me straight.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE... CANCEL CULTURE IS ALIVE AND WELL @JPF! YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT'S ALREADY BEEN DELETED...

"Take my underwear and run" is not a line that resonates with me. Definitely like that you took it country, but I'd personally pick another country sound. Different strokes. It does sound like Texas Hill Country singer-songwriter which is a sound I like to drink a beer to.
Having said that, imo,
the chorus is good. And the title is real real good.
So there you go, fwiw2u, there is a sincere compliment.

I see a few problems with it, but I really don't know country. At all. Growing up in suburbs of nj didn't understand it at all. Don't know what fits what's a stretch, what's not . What's a good guitar sound what not. What style My niece listens to alot of new country. I love guys like merle haggard and Johnny Cash, can still learn from them. Dad was a big Hank fan Ai gives us a chance to try different stuff.wait for my first polka song

Try it like this:
Slap my face Put me in my place Take my underwear and run
Shout "He's a looser." Adolescent schmoozer OK, it's all been done
A child could see what you wanna do Start again and come at me true
Cause, There ain't no easy way to lose you
and so on from there
In country you use AAB verses, use two 3 line verses not so much a 6 line verse. I know I used 6 line verses in the song I posted but the second verse didn't fit the two 3 line AAB verses. Hope this helps. Tex
By the way, I'm not sure about the underwear line either.

By the way, I'm not sure about the underwear line either. Ok so I wasn't too far off with the structure. 3 lines 6 lines can feel the same when passing fast. Went on instinct , this title used to be a roch song much different. Rock and pop much more forgiving. Thanks for your thoughts. Much appreciated. Hey, iwasn't happy about losing my underwear either haha
