Peace Love and Understanding

As i walk through
This wicked world
Searchin' for light in the darkness of insanity.

I ask myself
Is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred, and misery?

And each time i feel like this inside,
There's one thing i wanna know:
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding? ohhhh
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

And as i walked on
Through troubled times
My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes
So where are the strong
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Sweet harmony.

'cause each time i feel it slippin' away, just makes me wanna cry.
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding? ohhhh
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

So where are the strong?

Thats fine, I believe in God too, but i do so knowing my right brain says you gotta be kidding me dude.

I dont present an argument that makes the case worse than just believing....

Neither of you have proven anything in your mammoth back and forth nor given an inch so as I see things, Marty is right so far.

He stands as an agnostic, his position is that no human mind can prove or disprove God, and he moves on, perhaps practicing his faith in a way that comes to terms with what he does not know.

I'm on your side in a way Japov, except I don't believe our One Shared God is bound by or limited by The Bible or any holy book.

I said earlier I see God expressed and manifested thought our shared history with other cultures and civilizations and systems of belief with great similarities at their cores

In this I don't build a wall around my beliefs for the purpose of bolstering my faith. My faith is strengthened when I see others around the world believing in One God and or Supreme Reality they have arrived at independently, a system of belief that provides for a moral centre and admirable codes of conduct.

In this I see us all simply accidents of birth, a genetic package both into a situation and set of circumstances that begin to make you who you are.

After that, you make your choices, and live and die with them. You become what you do, what you are seen to do by others.

If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

The obvious contradiction is in the one thing that separates the Bible from "religion"...

"They will have ears but refuse to hear, eyes that refuse to see..."

Im still recovering that assertion John made, so far Marty is the only one that is right,,,, lmao

It clarifies alot of things, namely why when Marty and I have gone at it, John will usually show up and defend Marty. Marty is his hero, which is funny their beliefs are totally different. But to each their own...

So Marty the agnostic, who doesnt believe in anything, has it right?

Japov get your vaccine. While he doesnt get credit for it, Trump is intrumental in us having the vaccine this early. His operation warp speed, and his getting the FDA to approve it for emergency use, when these things normally take 10 years.

Whatever his motives were, he did get the vaccine here sooner.

Watch Japov run to the pharmacy now

Anyway, im working on a tune now and im having trouble with the lyrics, see i have the melody already and the lyrics have to fi it, its getting agitating now.

Perhaps i'll start a new one, i only have 100 or so to finish...

Hey where did FD go?

By Hal Lindsey

The Westminster Shorter Catechism begins with the primary question of human existence. “What is the chief end of man?” And then comes the glorious answer. “Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.”

Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Life presents challenges that are no fun. We all experience stress, grief, and fatigue. In Gethsemane, the Lord knew He was about to go through the long night of trials, betrayals, and beatings that would lead to His crucifixion and death. He entered a time of extraordinary stress. Luke 22:44 says, “Being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

But the story of Jesus does not end in His death. It continues today at the right hand of God the Father. Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us to look at Jesus as our example. “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Things happen in life. We experience grief. But for those who are in Christ, even the deepest sorrows do not last. Psalm 30:5 says, “Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.”

Joy awaits us in heaven, but it can be ours here as well. In fact, one of the best ways to glorify God now is to enjoy Him now. Psalm 16:11 says, “In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” Psalm 144:15 says, “How blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!”

Whatever we face, Romans 8:31 remains true. “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Isaiah 12:2 says, “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song.”

He is our song! This speaks to our delight in Him. Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” Why rejoice? Because Christ the Lord came into the world, and He’s coming again. Scary circumstances do not have to scare us. And hope pervades even our worst grief.

Psalm 36:7-9 says, “How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.”

Think about the phrase, “River of Your delights.” C. S. Lewis called it, “The delight that made David dance.”

Are you troubled or tired? Are you heartsick over something that has happened to you, to someone dear to you, or to the nation you love? That’s okay. God is with you in your pain. But for the Christian, pain carries an expiration date.

And even during the pain — including the worst of the grief, sorrow, or sadness — the river of His delights continues to flow. You don’t have to wait for heaven to experience it. You can go to that river right now. You, too, can know the “delight that made David dance.”

Dom sorry I did not address your thoughts but I think you and I are alike here in that it it quite legitimate to ask important questions, and demand answers, where matters are important

Japov or any Hal Lindsay who proposes something they deem important enough to convince you of must be held to a certain standard of proof that meets your version of how the world and universe works as you know it.

Your side of this mammoth debate is buttressed by lots of fact and I see it in no way invalidated.

I just concluded that so far Marty was ahead in his assertion neither one of you or he or I or Japov can prove or disprove the existence of God or what is written in the Bible as the literal word of God

I see Hal Lindsay as exploiting fear of impending doom for self interests. He's made a bet he will die rich and have lived a "good life" before anything happens and in the meantime he builds a brand. You gotta love free enterprise and speech. If you can "free enterprise" religion that's even better. Ask any televangelist.

AND Dom your questions were fair and appropriate just like Marty's were and I did not mean anything dismissive in my ommision

I believe we are born as observers of the world around us, a genetic package with a birthright of advantages parents anf families can bring, and we become the sum of our experiences with circumstance time and place

I believe our ability to ask insightful questions is out most wondrous gift and expression of our awareness as Homo Sapien.

I believe that our One Shared God of Abraham, the one shared in our collective history, should He actually exist, has gifted us a wonderful universe to ask questions in

But I also what we believe about God, our "story of God" can and does change over time as we learn more answers to our insightful questions

For me science supports the agnostic viewpoint in the sense that our concept of God put Him outside our observable universe , which I have no problem believing started 14 or so Billion years ago with the Big Bang. We have no way of knowing what lies beyond that physical universe creation event horison, to some earlier period, but we are looking at all kinds of neat areas of this universe to learn more of its micro and macro structure.

As for foretelling the future in any meaningful way, no Hal Lindsay prophet of doom has any countenance with me .

I think we are much on the same page???

It's not a mammoth debate, and you dont have to address my views, it's just odd how you HAVE to get Marty in there as he has not even been in this for a while now.

Anyway, this video gives us an idea how everything unfolded, and just think if that asteroid never hit the dinosaur, we wouldnt be here.

It just if anything should open ones eye to how complex everything is. No simple explanations.

I wonder....

Do ya'll lose your minds and start debating with yourselves every time you hear the name Jesus on country radio?

Do any of you even consider that denying Jesus is the same mistake God's own people made 2000yrs ago?

Since 90% of all Biblical prophecy from Genesis to Revelation has already come to pass, do any of you believe that your pitiful powers of cerebral onanism are going to stop the last 10%?

You are joking? Right?

It's a friggin adjunct thread to a vastly mostly amateur songwriter forum.
Enjoy the back and forth, but keep your feet on the earth.

No. Cuz usually that is "Jayzus, please hep may" sort of stuff. Nothing offensive about someone reaching out for something familiar and comforting in a moment of worry.

I'd ask you to back to that up with evidence but you wont because there aint any. You'll just dismiss me as a mouthpiece for Satan for even asking.
You know...I've always thought that the coolest name for the devil was Mephistopheles. Actually he was a Sub-Satan in the Faustus story, Nevertheless, intriguing name.

You know...I've always thought that the coolest name for the devil was Mephistopheles.

"Mephistopheles"..."mouthpiece for Satan"... Lol! As I said before, the Devil is just a liar, no need to complicate him. Just admit it Marty, for some mysterious reason you can't bring yourself to casually dismiss this smile

That recalls another question that I have never gotten a convincing answer to Ton'.

Why would an absolutely all powerful God allow a malcontented rogue angel to rattle around the earthlings creating all manner of havoc just "for the hell of it?"

Marty, the serpent, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil, were in the garden of Eden. Lucifer was here before us... and God never intended for him to have any power over us. The way I see it, we were always intended to rub the authority of God in the Devil's face.

When all of that occurred...What did the continents look like?
What continent contained the garden of Eden?
How many (earth) years ago were these events in play?

Part B
Why does an all powerful God allow Satan to do anything?

Part A;
That's the problem with trying to rationalize what it's like to be God. Linear time is part of God's creation, and intended to limit "Us" not Him. The question I ask is, when did that battle in Heaven actually occur? Does it matter? God cast Lucifer out of eternal Heaven so, He could have done so at any point in "linear time" that He pleased. That war in Heaven could be happening right now.

Part B;
Why does God allow "US" to do anything?

Part C;
Yes, Absolutely! Lol smile

If there is only one God, and nobody has any power but HIM? Why does Satan have any power at all? ALL this apparently took place BEFORE The Earth. Where did Satan come from? Did God create him? Satan bypassed billions of years and was there all along as God was?

See how non sensicle this is? And then to think God doesnt just squash him, nah...ill let Satan hang around, and then let him ruin the lives of everybody I created, and then Ill punish them for listening to him. Cause like The Rock i like putting the smack down.

There you go, confusing the Bible with the Qur'an again...

God is the origin of "All" things, and we are only allowed a tiny glimpse. The real question is, does God allow us enough rope to hang ourselves, or enough time to learn from our own mistakes? Perhaps both?

Never mind I got my answer from Christianty.com, I dont even recall our church mentioning satan much at all

SO Lucifer was an angel hangin around the same time and place God was, God needed some helpers, so he created them, but then lucifer turned bad, and because he had free will was allowed to keep whatever power he had...still not clear why he has power.

But then God kicked him out of heaven, so he hangs around earth instead.

If this is not metaphorical and fables to explain the unexplainable, i dont know what is!

And you wonder why i criticize YOU? Who is blaming anybody?

I wanted to know where Satan came from and why he had powers, you didnt know, your answer revealed nothing.

Then as always if you want something done you do it yourself. I found why they THINK this... not why it IS or is at all...

Funny you call me ignorant and you couldnt even tell me about Satan

1. God created Lucifer good. God is the Father of all Creation (John 1:3; Colossians 1:15-17). The only entity who was not created is God Himself, who inhabits eternity as the Alpha and the Omega (Isaiah 57:15; Revelation 1:8).

From God’s hand sprung forth every other thing that has, does, and will exist. This includes Lucifer, whom the Bible tells us was “created” and who initially dwelt in heaven and in the garden of Eden (Ezekiel 28:13).

As God’s creation, we know that Lucifer was created good (Genesis 1:31; Ezekiel 28:13). In fact, we’re told that Satan was initially created “blameless” in all his ways, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty (Ezekiel 28:12-15).

In fact, such a model of perfection was Satan that God gave him a position of prominence among the angels (Ezekiel 28:14).

2. God ordained Lucifer as a guardian cherub in heaven. Satan was known as the “morning star,” translated as Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12).

As an angel, Lucifer walked on God’s holy mountain and was anointed to serve God as a member of the guardian cherubim, among the highest rank of angels in God’s holy host second only to the seraphim (Ezekiel 28:14).

That Lucifer was ordained a cherub signifies his initial position of celestial prominence, as God Himself sits “enthroned between the cherubim” (Isaiah 37:16).

Lucifer’s high rank also speaks to the gravity of his betrayal when he chose to betray his Creator.

3. Lucifer’s sinful pride cost him his place in paradise. Despite Lucifer’s God-given wisdom and beauty, as well as the honor of serving in God’s angelic guard, Lucifer wasn’t humbled by his many blessings.

On the contrary, Lucifer became consumed with pride over his splendor. As that pride grew, Lucifer’s thoughts became so corrupt that he began desiring to be higher than God rather than to continue serving under Him (Ezekiel 28:15-17; Isaiah 14:13-14).

This ravenous sense of superiority led Lucifer to exercise his free will in scheming to be greater than God and assembling an army of angels to help him carry out that plot (Revelation 12:3-4,9).

It’s important to note here that Lucifer’s sinful pride in rebelling against God is different from the commonplace sense of pride we feel over a job well done.

Rather, the pride that the Bible condemns refers to the state of being so obsessed with yourself that your thoughts never turn to God and your heart never seeks Him (Psalm 10:4).

It is pride in this biblical sense that tops the list of sins that God hates (Proverbs 6:16-17).

As punishment for his grave disobedience and dishonoring of his angelic post, God cast Lucifer out of heaven by hurling him and his army of fallen angels to Earth (Ezekiel 28:16-18; Luke 10:18; Revelation 12:9).

Lucifer then became known as Satan, humanity’s adversary and accuser who prowls the Earth seeking revenge against God by sewing conflict and division among His children.

Aiding Satan in this wicked plot is his army of fallen angels who now serve as demons doing Satan’s bidding (Revelation 12:7-9).

4. Satan’s rebellion against God sprung from Satan’s free will. Although God created Satan, God did not and could not have created the evil that Satan bore in his heart and chose to act on.

Scripture is clear that God is love (1 John 4:8). As the epitome of everything that is good, God tempts no one (James 1:13).

However, in His love for His creations, God gave us the free will to choose how we live our lives. Likewise, angels are beings created higher than humans (Hebrews 2:7).

As such, angels also possess the free will to either obey God or abandon Him. Thus, although God created everything that is, Satan’s choice to rise up against God sprung entirely from Satan’s own volition (2 Timothy 2:26).

In a similar way, the legion of angels who joined Satan’s rebellion willingly chose for themselves the path of sin and destruction.

What Does This Mean?
Like humanity, God created the angels — including Satan — good, and allowed the angels to choose whether to follow Him or turn from Him.

Unlike humanity, however, the angels who chose to rebel against God in a vain attempt to usurp His throne have no hope of redemption.

Instead, the fate that awaits them is “the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).

There are important lessons we can draw from the Bible’s account of Satan. We learn from Satan’s story that pride was the first sin committed in the universe and that humanity has been on notice ever since that “pride goeth before destruction” (Proverbs 16:18, KJV).

In addition, and most importantly, the Bible confirms that Satan was defeated by our Savior Jesus Christ. The Cross strengthens us when the Devil tempts us into acting on our sinful nature.

We can avoid Satan’s snares and reach paradise by remaining vigilant that our thoughts and actions align with the message of the Cross when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

My take is its biblical, they know what they are talking about as far as the stories go.

But the idea God, an all loving and powerful entity would involve himself in a ranking system of who is most and least important, like he is CEO and he hires people to be beneath him to me is a clear description of an Earthly kingdom, with kings and queens, and a hierarchy of important people. It's clear the writers of those biblical stories were worldly every day people, who didnt know what to write so they came up with the best analogy they could.

I'm secretly enjoying watching you backpedal Dom... Oh, crap! Did I write that out loud?

Prophecy is still the proof that the Bible's origins are not "earthly" Dom...

So prophecy is still proof that the Bible is not earthly.... So, we are reading an unearthly language? It wasnt written in the language spoken at the time of writing? It didnt describe the times, the surroundings and events of the time, and was so Earthly, that it couldnt name Jesus or state he'd be crucified..... ?

Id say prophecy was entirely earthly, otherwise there would be no way to write it.

And im glad I was able to educate you a bit on The Bible, means you are not studying The Bible enough

Hey guys,

I "thought" there was no actual Biblical refernce to the East or Eastern Sky of the Christs' return...

Somehow today I ended up at Zechariah 14:4 "And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east" ....

Things are sure changing fast these days... Hope Ya'll are keeping up!

By Hal Lindsey

For the first time in 12 years, Benjamin Netanyahu is not the Prime Minister of Israel. He served in that position from 1996 to 1999, and then from 2009 to 2021. During those years, he accumulated enemies every step of the way — enemies from Washington to Tehran to Tel Aviv. But despite the widespread, organized opposition, he stayed in power longer than any other Prime Minister in Israel’s history.

When I interviewed Mr. Netanyahu in November of 2005, I asked what he would do if elected Prime Minister again. His answer reflected his tough, pragmatic, and well-reasoned approach to governing. “I'd stop the policy of unilateral withdrawals in the face of terror,” he said. He went on to give specific instances where Israel won on the battlefield, then gave away those gains at the negotiating table. This gave Palestinians the impression that terrorism works.

I asked about the danger of Iran gaining nuclear weapons. You can see in his answer why he made the prevention of a nuclear Iran a cornerstone of his foreign policy. He said, “They openly declare their intention to destroy Israel…. They have an equal animosity to you [Americans] because, remember again, we're ‘the little Satan.’ You're ‘the big Satan.’… They hate us because of you, because we represent this hated western civilization that they so abhor.”

He said to imagine the Iranian regime “with its furnaces of fanaticism” acquiring nuclear weapons. It would “be a tremendous shield for terror, and they might also use the weapon itself…. Once a country has nuclear weapons, all the calculations for dealing with it, or acting against it, are different. So, I would say that the imperative for the United States and for the free world is to make sure that the Ayatollah regime does not develop and possess atomic weapons.”

The western world did not heed his warnings, but his Arab neighbors did. Shared concern over Iranian aggression helped bring about the Abraham Accords. Even so, getting these Muslim nations to work together in peace with their former enemy was not easy. Mr. Netanyahu showed diplomatic genius in shepherding the Accords along. And, as much as people hate giving President Trump credit for anything, no one can deny his administration’s key role in the Accords.

We do not yet know the policies or tenor of Israel’s new leadership. The new government coalition is remarkably broad, but because of that, it is extremely fragile. It brings together elements from across Israel’s political spectrum. Their unity seems to be based on a mutual disdain for Benjamin Netanyahu. To thrive, they will need more than that.

Naftali Bennett, Israel’s new Prime Minister, remains something of a mystery. He describes himself as “more right wing” than Netanyahu. That may be true. We will see. Before becoming a political rival, he worked for Mr. Netanyahu in several positions, including Chief of Staff.

Israel’s rebirth was a miracle, and so is the nation’s continued existence. It has continued because God miraculously intervened again and again. Benjamin Netanyahu was one of those miracles. His leadership came at a crucial time. But miracles are God’s work. They do not depend on any one person. Despite changes in leadership, God will continue to do what He said He would do regarding the State of Israel in the end times.

He gave us His word.
