I have played on electric guitars that were not mine. But have owned only one other electric guitar up until my recent purchase of a Mark 2 electric guitar from a pawn shop. I see online that there is a Mark 2 that is big in acoustic guitars. I have a Martin Sigma acoustic. That is the only acoustic guitar I have owned. Anyone here have either an acoustic or electric of Mark 2 and how do you like the guitar(s)?

The real question is how do you like the way it sounds and plays?
I once bought a student Ibanez solid body guitar just because it had a nice sound. Eventually it was used for a really great session where I used it. I had brought a strat, tele, gretsch, LP and ended up using this cheap Ibanez.

Colin: It looks just like that guitar. I don't know though how to base comparisons other then it seems to go out of tune a bit quicker. I also bought a Kustom amp in the bargain and can come up with some nice sounds along with my other sonic devices. The pickups are shot on my vintage Harmony. I do not know anything about placing them in and took the panel off and put in a mic clip. I guess I at least have the diversity of a mic clipped electric now and the Harmony has a nice rosewood finish. But I have had to adjust a bit to the new feel of the Mark 2. It is smaller with a shorter neck and am likeing it more with each play.

R&M: Measure the distance between the tuners and then measure the distance between a strat and tele's... My bet is they are the same and you could always buy a set of Fender replacement tuners and most likely solve some of the tuning problem.
Fact is that most inexpensive guitars all have tuning problems.
PS: Are you sure it's the pick-ups and not the switches or capacitors?

That could very well be. I know it shorted out where I put the patch cord in to the pickups yet I still heard a faint airy noise. I still have the complete board. There is a music shop where I live but would have to spend a lot of money to get this guitar serviced. More then many may think it is worth. Never thought of getting it serviced with Fender parts. I really want to hang on to this baby.
Thanks for input
